Title: Soft top noise.
Post by: Anonymous on June 1, 2004, 10:59
Recently, I have noticed a noise from my soft-top roof. It appears to be coming from the thin metal cable that is housed in leather running from right to left, between the outer and in skins of the hood (i.e. directly above my head). I can feel the cable as I run my hand under the centre of the hood. It flapping a lot – particulary on the passenger side and its really annoying.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what the solution (if any). Cheers

Yes, I have exactly the same...    s:( :( s:(

As to what to do about it...  I've learnt to live with it and accepted that the '2 is never going to be a quiet car    s:roll:  s:roll:

If anyone has a better solution, I'll be glad to hear it    s:) :) s:)

Cheers

therer the cables that pull the "ears" in. these have velco at the end so make sure that they are connected to the V flaps on the top corners of te roof, had the same noise when i first had the car!
