Title: Painting my strut brace (photoshop help)
Post by: Zonda_ on March 14, 2013, 15:31
Toying with the idea of painting my rear strut brace white, anyone handy with photoshop can show me what a white brace would look like?  My car is the dark blue if you can show that too!

Will be easier to do if... you take a picture of your engine bay. Then someone can modify that quicker.  s;-) ;-) s;-)

That'll do  :-) :-) :-)

Do you want one a little further back too, or is it just this view you are interested in?

Just this one for now.  Next priority is a front brace.

See my other thread in the electrical section! Hateful thing is gone.

Cheers for that Stu,  what do people think,  I quite like body colour now looking at it.

No worries  :-) :-) :-)
Can do any other colour you fancy too!!  s:lol:  s:lol:

I know what you were going for with white. I think I like the body coloured one most though.  :-) :-) :-)

Yep,  I just need to know what the actual colour code is so I can buy a rattle can.  I was also thinking of putting a white stripe full length of the car   s:oops:  s:oops:

The colours are all listed in the reference section. 4th down on the home page I think.

White stripe down the middle or offset or 1 wide + 1 thin? Deffo do with sticker though.  :-) :-) :-)

For me that wouldn't be in-keeping with the ethos of the club. All I ask is that people who want stuff are patient. As I can't always get it done the same day. Other than that it's all good.  :-) :-) :-)

Down the middle,  any idea where could supply stickers?

I am sure there are plenty of vinyl sticker suppliers about. Personally I don't have any recommendations.

Might have a contact who can supply,  do we think a single stripe or twin viper stripes?

I'd go twin...

I know you have to use your imagination a bit...
Imagine in blue... with white... and just one side... with 1 thick and 1 thin...

Stu, that's cheating. The options were single or twin!  s;) ;) s;)

I am a fan of the mixed width versions though...

Im a little on the fence with this one, in one way it could look good but in another it might not... I think that because the car is so standard it might look like somebody has just gone to halfords and stuck some vinyl on his car if u get me? Some cars it suits but the fact ur putting a stripe over the car and not being able to do the roof might make it look a bit tacky? Kind of like when u see a car with a big exhaust and a bodykit yet its on standard wheels and hasnt been lowered? U see what I mean? As its only vinyl I say go for it and see what it looks like but I think a hardtop with the stripe over would be loads nicer.

I think a hardtop would help finish the theme.
Happy to do a photoshop if someone supply's a nice high res pic of a bluey.
Then I can show a few options.

I agree, with a hard top I think it could work, although the soft top does pose a slight challenge.

On the subject of stripes though a google search revealed this, looks good...

But also this, not so good (needs a photoshop lesson from you Stu)...

However I did also find this which I quite like...

I quite fancy a single stripe that runs from behind the badge.

That what you were thinking? Wider or thinner?

That's great,  if you have time can you show it with slightly narrower twin stripes,  but I think these would be harder to do with the engine cover vents.

I can cut the one in half on those pictures if you want?
3 even size blocks of colour? i.e. white, blue, white
or narrower blue stripe?

Input welcome

Have to say I agree just not my cup of tea think stripes detract from the lines of the car IMO
