Title: JL 6.5 Inch 6W3v3-4 Subwoofer
Post by: lemans on March 17, 2013, 00:25
I am looking at getting one of these for my UD sub.  If anyone has one for sale i'd be interested

However, I have also come across the Ground Zero GZNW6.5 which is cheaper and is recommended for small enclosures

Has anyone tried one of these in the MR2? How does it compare with the JL?

Has anyone used anything else in the UD enclosure?

Daryl

Hi Daryl,

At £99 'd pay the extra £20 for the JL.  Ground Zero is not exactly in the same league as JL by a fair margin last I checked.

I had a £25 off ebay unbranded sub in my UD box for about 4 months before I upgraded and it sounded decent.  More mid bass than sub bass though.  The JL drops lower and generally integrates better with the components I have.

The JL is worth the money - you get what you pay for you won't be disappointed

Thanks guys

Looks like I am saving my pennies for the JL   s:roll:  s:roll:    s:lol:  s:lol:

I can save up while I am getting my new amp installed and get the wiring in ready for the sub when funds permit.

Just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can spend time on the car without getting hypothermia.  s:lol:  s:lol:

Got the JL sub installed under the dash tonight and all I can say is wow!

You really do get a lot of good bass from pointing the sub under the dash. It's not ground shaking bass (not what I wanted) but you can follow the bass guitar clearly and hear the bass drums which were lost before.
