BDTrims on Ebay are selling what looks like a full set of both chrome or wood dash kits for what seems for £66.40 + £10 p&p does that seem like too much of a bargain considering just the center panel on japanparts is over 90 smackeroonies? m http://www.bdtrims.com (http://www.bdtrims.com) m
GB anyone?
That seems extremely cheap for the whole set; I wonder what the quality is like s:?: :?: s:?:

No idea really, but seems you just answered yourself s;) ;) s;)
quick, somebody buy and install this, then tell me how good it is.
cheers.
It looks a little...naff to me actually. Rather than having nice "metal" looking chrome switch rings, it seems to be one lump of silver painted plastic with a few holes cut in it... s:? :? s:?
I think that in this case cheap is more than likely going to equal poor quality! Which is rather annoying, as surely it can't cost anything to mould and then chrome a few bits of plastic - I've bought a few R/C chrome parts in the past, which cost practically nothing! (in comparison to the prices charged for the official chrome Toyota kit anyway)
Tim
and what a poor finish, look above instruments, the didn't even bring the plastic down to cover all the dash. would look much better if it was just sprayed with ally or chrome paint

LOOKS A LITTLE TO CHEAP FOR MY LIKING

BDTRims
NOTE: aahh, this price is for Mk2 MR2, for a roadster, the kit is £76.40 inc P&P
and what do you think of it then sideysid?
any good?
got any more pictures?
should be interesting to see how it looks in the car Pete. The area you need to watch is above the air vents as this tends to lift up when the interior of the car gets hot or with the top down but in hot sunshine.
If you notice on the picture even their example car suffers from this s:? :? s:?
In retrospect if fitting one of these kits again I would stick this area first rather than start at the top or the bottom rolling it down/up.
This of course is the area that you cant really paint it as this panel is an integeral part of the dash and as a consequence cant be removed to spray it.
Have used a couple of these type kits to date for that exact same reason (covering a non sprayable area) only hint I can give is to make sure you use the Scotch 3M adhesive accelerator/activator that you will get with the kit and also ensure you clean off any silicone type cleaners you may have used on the dash parts previously (cockpit shine etc)
I don't actually have the kit yet, but I have ordered the brushed aluminium version to see what the quality is like.
As long as you don't stick it down you've got up to 30 days to return for a full refund if you think the quality is crap.
3M adhesive/cleaner is included with the kit, so keeping it stuck shouldn't be a problem.
I'll post when I get it and tell ya what I think of it....
Just finished fitting the fake Walnut dash
And I must say that the quality of the product is !st class
It really adds a little class to the dash
Thanks Perry at JAE for your guidance
If anyone shows interest I will take some pics
