Title: Oil Pressure
Post by: Jap GT300 on July 5, 2004, 13:36
I have everthing done on the 2ZZ now apart from the dipstick, i just can't get the right shape to fit.

What happens if you run the car without the oil system being pressurised?  The head already sounds tinny as if it is being starved.  There is no oil spillage from the gap though.

Thanks Adam

I though this was a simple job of swopping one off a 1zz? complete with brackets?

It was!  For some reason mine doesn't want to know.  I may use the 2ZZ one and just get under neath the car each time I want to check it.

I can't even imagine trying to get that 2zz dipstick out everytime you want to check the oil!   s:shock:  s:shock:    s:o :o s:o

I did mine by cutting off one of two of the 1zz's brackets.  Then I got some sheet metal and cut a little plate and bolted it to the remaining bracket on the dipstick and somewhere near the main water pipe comming out of the block.  I then took off the upper piece with that rubber grommet, dremmeled it a bit, and connected the upper part of the dipstick to the valve cover.  It looks almost like stock   s:) :) s:)
