Title: Drive belt
Post by: bobmcc13 on August 19, 2013, 21:15
I have just replaced the drive belt on my 2.

However I can't find any info on how to adjust it .

Do you just slacken the big bolt on the tensioner plate and let the spring do the rest ?

I've not been able to find any information on how to replace and adjust the belt anywhere hence my request.

Thanks in advance.

I have not done mine yet but i thought you just put a socket/breaker bar on the tensioner.....pulled it to release the tension.....remove old belt.......fit new belt......pull the tensioner again to let the new belt on.....dont think there is any adjustment tbh the tensioner is supposed to do that, could be completely wrong though  s:lol:  s:lol:  if it was way too loose could be a belt for a car with air con as it would have an extra pulley......therefore a longer belt.

There is no adjustment, the tensioner takes car of it automatically for you.
