Had my car through the MOT today, emissions were high, 0.5 on one and 1.5 on the other can't remember which way round it was. Anyway could any of the following be affecting them
Stainless manifold
Unichip
Cobra exhaust
I managed to get a pass but would be interested in solving the issue.
The precats shouldn't matter as they operate at low temps and the main cat kicks in at higher temps (when the UK MOT emissions are checked).
Similarly the cat back shouldn't change things too much so my line of enquiry would be:
- the mix provided by the Unichip
- whether or not you'd blasted the cack out with a decent drive before hand
EDIT: For a bit of comparison mate, these were mine in my MOT last month (all stock regarding preats, exhaust and chip)...
CO = 0.093%
HC = 8ppm
I am sure it depends how long the man
Testing the car left the car running
The hoter the beter.
My emissions where heigh and heigh last year
This year the car was 0.177 last year bit higher
0.180 sonethink like that all i no it pass on
The 5th go so the tester was happy.
The thing is even if i change all bits related to
Emissions what real benifits will i get, it already passed.
I get it know my co max allowed was
0.300 but i got 0.177 so that ok old car.
Hc was 15 and allowed 200
And ox sensor max 1095 result 1000 not lower the 995
All makes sence.
Likely the chip unless its been mapped to your car.
Ok thanks going to try a remap, I was lucky the tester got it through for me which was nice of him.
What was the result of you max,
On the max result what it say?
That for the co?
It 1.5 but max was?
