Title: Diff removal from gearbox
Post by: spoonsy on October 15, 2013, 08:10
Got my gearbox out of the car, need to remove the diff. Looks straightforward but just wondered if there were any hidden nasties that I need to be aware of?

If any can post any pictures of the sequence then that would be most appreciated!  Many thanks   s:D :D s:D

Also, are all 5 speed PFL cars fitted with the LSD?

All UK cars have the LSD. Have a look on twobrutal for gearbox dissection info.

I did mine last week. Once the box is out is was a easy. I used an electric impact gun and found once the cover would move I had access to the two selector bolts, undoing the two bolts inside the gearbox housing enable the gearbox to be lifted off once the seal was broken. Took about 45mins.

Only did this to sell Diff and recover some of the money of the 6 speeder
