Them Monkeywrench guys are amazing.....
yikes!
hat off to the new power Guru s:bowdown:  s:bowdown: s:bowdown:  s:bowdown: s:bowdown:  s:bowdown: s:bowdown:  s:bowdown:
Its all very well having that much power (VERY impressive as it is. This certainly isn't a flaming posting.......), but the 2 was designed as a drivers car, to have fun in. Surely doing this kind of thing to a 2, if you are only going to drag it, defeats the object of the car?
Now, if he had backed this up with a raft of power handling and suspension mods that made it a little racer, then I would probably be that much more impressed................just adding power to a car isn't THAT difficult...............impressive though it is...........
Do you consider a F1 a drag racing car ?
Putting lots of power with a really excellent chassis makes an perfect car.
Of course it's harder to drive, but try a Z3M : good+ chassis, lots of power -> really great car.
But you won't be driving it with one hand on the snow, though.

No, it would actually suck at drag racing...
That is truly incredible.
That is all.

I dunno Tem, I think it'd probably whip a stock Roadster... s;) ;) s;)
Still, that's an impressive amount of power for a mainstream - shopping trolley - engine.. As he says - it's making more power at 4000rpm than a stock izzy does at any revs..
Must be a giggle to drive s:) :) s:) Though I wonder how long the transmission will last..
It's a shame he mentioned dragging it though - not because I think that's a bad thing, but because of all the negative comments it's bound to provoke.. Afterall, lets face it - ET speed at a drag strip is a very good measure of the usable power a car is putting down on the road..
At least autocross is getting more popular over the pond, and not just drag racing s:) :) s:)
Aaanyway. I've rambled. I'll shut up s:) :) s:)

Maybe s;) ;) s;)
I think the only fair comparison between cars is within similar price range. And if you take a F1 to a drag strip against a car built with same amount of money for dragging... s:roll:  s:roll:

I'm not sure anyone spends F1 kinda money on dragging do they? Not entirely sure what a top fuel dragster costs mind, but I bet it's less than £400m per season s:) :) s:)
Still, I wouldn't say no to a go in either.. s;) ;) s;)

They don't...which just shows how much F1 cars suck at dragging, if people can build faster draggers in their garage for practically free, when compared to price on F1 cars s;) ;) s;)
