After reading a few old posts regarding brake fluid changes I've noticed some large variances in the prices charged by Mr T.
I've just had my 20K service (actual = 14k) and although I've paid over £200 for the service they suggested that my brake fluid is contaminated and my coolant needs changing but did sweet FA about it.
I've now been quoted £110 s:? :? s:? for changing the brake fluid and coolant and I'm wondering whether to take my car to a Kwik Fit or Formula 1 autocentre to have it changed there.
Does anyone have experiences/ costs of having this work done by someone other than Mr T?
Would my warranty be affected? s:shock:  s:shock:
How much did they say for the brake fluid only to be changed? I need this done on the next service, which is iminnent........... s:? :? s:?

One was £50 all in and the other £60 but the details are at home.
I got my coolent done in the 2 for free. I told them I thought there was a leak, they had to drain it to check LOL!
Heh heh............now THATS an idea...........
As for the brake fluid, kinda what I expected. Cheers Comer!
Apparently, if you mix brake fluid with bleach, you get smoke. Lots of it.
Sorry. s:wink:  s:wink:
I just rang Kwik Fit near me and they quoted £10 including fluid s:shock:  s:shock:

I think we can recommend that you
don't go there, then.. Enough (decent) brake fluid to flush & fill the system would cost more than that...
Or was that coolant? Even so it's a bit cheap..
Yep it was for brake fluid and I don't think I'll go there. Quite surprised at the price though. I thought it may be a different price for different cars but he didn't ask which car I had.
