Title: Mesh for engine bay
Post by: Anonymous on July 30, 2004, 18:49
I bought some mesh stuff at JAE after seeing how nice it looks on the underside of the engine-bay lid (still not sure if it's a bootlid or a bonnet)

I've had a good play with the search button and found Kris' template - before I attack this tomorrow I have 2 questions...

1) Is there any difference to to the shape of mine as it's an 03?

2) Apart from wearing 6 pairs of thick gloves and taking my time - any words from the wise that will help me transform my 2 to a beast of even more beauty without totally cocking it up or breaking anything?

much obligio

Mine is an 03, but no... there is no difference.

Tip... dont cut too much off... its easier to remove extra than it is if you cut too much off!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Also remember that if your mesh is a different pattern one way round or up, that you cut it so it matches the other side of it will look strange.

Carefull what you cut it with
After experimenting I found that household sissors were the best
Just do a bit at a time and refit and you should not go wrong

Hi Sandi,

Changed my aluminium for a stainless steel mesh and my helpful neighbour saw me struggling to cut it and helped me out to cut it, I did fit it in myself!!  Oh, and don't scratch your face with it, I have a lovely line across my chin at the moment! post us some pictures when you have done.  s:) :) s:)

Thats the US market badge that they get in place of our " Roadster" Badge. I've had one on my car for a couple of years, tat I got from an SC member, but I'm sure you can get your local Mr T to order one for you. The part number is on SC if you go searching.
