The stereo in my newly acquired PFL is a big Sony CD/Tape thing. It fills the whole of what I understand is a double Din space...
Its old, looks tatty and the CD doesnt work. It also doesnt appear to have an Aux input, so plugging anything into it would mean a tape adaptor s:( :( s:(
I have an 'old' Alpine CD head unit, which although being 10 years old now, hasnt seen much use (almost all radio, and almost all the same channel, so looks in good nick s:) :) s:) ).
Its a single Din however....
So, how do I go about fitting this?..... Old one out, old cage out, new single Din cage in, new stereo in, new (to be acquired from where) blanking plate to cover the gap?...
Thanks
James
Mine was done when I got it but I think it should be old one out, double cage out, single din fascia in (autoleads do one), single cage in, wiring adaptor on (think autoleads do these too) and finally new head unit it. s:) :) s:)
Thanks s:) :) s:)
Theres no cage.....the originals are mounted on brackets,i think your single din adaptor facia will probably screw on like the brackets did then you fit your new cage into the adaptor, you may need your old unit front surround to finish things off so dont throw it out......not too hard a job, updated my double din to another last week......the kit on ebay, adaptor and leads are around 20quid or less.

I would have thought that adaptor would suit both pre and facelift tbh.

Can anyone confirm if the item in the link will work with pre facelift cars or if there is a difference? Can anyone confirm the surround/tray part fits well too? Thanks
Anybody know if the wiring adaptor is different between pre and post facelift? Thanks
