Is anybody else having the same problem we're having in this heavy rain?
Symptoms: Heavy rain pouring on soft top causes alarm to go off at random... usually at about 4am which is really starting to p*ss me off s:x :x s:x (and the neighbours! s:lol: :lol: s:lol: )
Is there anything we can do about it? is the alarm over-sensitive or do we just have to put up with it?

microwave sensor is too sensitive, you need to turn it dowwn.
where is the sensor on the 'two' ? I think mine needs turning up
mines an imprt so will be different, on the UK 'm not sure

The amount of people who were stretching into my car at MR2004 to point out gauges etc to their mates without the alarm going of was a little worrying.
Problem is Perry all teh obviosu places I can think of will already have been ruled out, as you've already had 50% of teh car in bits s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

Thats a pretty good alarm if its true. Mine only goes off when i put pressure on the seats, or maybe close the bonnet, or throw a bucket of water at it.
totaly true mate, i just open the garage door and go deaf, but you can touch the car outdoors and it wont unless you put your hand thru an open window
it defo has a m/wave sensor as this is turned off if you click the key 3 times. its just where the adjustment unit is, is the question?
When mine went off randomly when I got the car, the garage said it was behind the drivers seat somethere.
Not that it narrows it down that much - soz.

I did hear that it was behind/under the drivers cubby, but when working on the fuel tank I didnt see anything that stuck out?
Remove the Driver's side cubby hole door, and you will find the sensor behind the carpet behind the drivers seet, mounted to the vertical cross panel.
It's a black box, from memory about 100mm long x 50 wide x 15mm deep and there's a black knob on the front with white graduations representing the sensitivity.
I have not tried but I guess you would turn it anticlockwise to reduce the sensitivity.
I ran my amplifier cables down the centre console and noticed this when I stripped everything out.

I'd never thought of this. I always assumed that the alarm sounded when I opened the garage door because of a sudden in-rushing of air 'deforming' the soft top. When I open the garage door slowly it doesn't happen. Like-wise it doesn't happen when the hard top is on. s:? :? s:?
I've had teh same issue,
interestingly if I arm the house alarm in teh garage it also sets of my car alarm.
Yep my aftermarket microwave alarm goes off if I open the garage door before switching off the alarm. Not very popular in my road on a weekend morning!!!
Another 'feature' of my alarm. I left my mobile in the centre console whilst shopping (tut tut) and when my missus returned to the car she tried ringing me to find out which shop I was still in. At that time the alarm went off and she could set it off whenever she rang or sent a text to my phone in the car s:shock: :shock: s:shock:

13 months of putting my car in the garage with car alarm set, no problems no activations.
Now everytime I open the up & over garage door the alarm sounds.
Does anybody know why s:?: :?: s:?:
Our car has done the opposite - for the first few months that we had it, the alarm would go off every time you opened the garage door. Recently, it's stopped doing it. Weird, huh?!

Just to confirm what has been said before, if you leave the top down or windows open, disable the interior "microwave bubble" by pressing the lock button a third time (indicators flash twice).
If the car is all closed up, I guess perhaps it is just sensitivity gone awry, or a pressurised garage s:wink: :wink: s:wink:
