Title: Custom exhaust
Post by: Anonymous on August 23, 2004, 19:46
Thought some of you who haven't changed their stock exhaust yet might be interested in my custom exhaust. I was without my car for 2 days but it was totally worth it. It sounds brilliant, (see the link below) I went for 3.5inch tips which look spot on and it cost a fair wack less than the H&S.

I'm sure Nick would welcome enquiries, or have a look on his website.  w www.totallycustom.co.uk (http://www.totallycustom.co.uk) w

3.5" tips is what I'd go for second time around, and that does sound like a pretty fine exhaust too.

Sounds excellent! Very nice top end not dissimilar to the TM.  Nice find, also sounds very purposefull at idle!

Thats not bad at all!

Not sure how it'd work with losing my car though, seeing as its miles from where we live and we're a one car household.

Hmm.

I'm told theres a classic exhaust place in Egham that will make systems from scratch.

It was any tips i fancied when he did mine. As it's all custom made you can have exactly what you want, he even made mine just the right sound, loud but not too loud.

Ive been thinking about getting a dual exhaust for a while, simply want a better look and sound than the standard factory fitted one.

Any advice please on the benefits of a dual system and the best places to get one? (I live in Newcastle). I assume the Toyota dealer garage is not the best place??

Thanks  s:? :? s:?

There is a mountain of info on dual exhausts on this site with the arguments for and against. I went for the Hayward and Scott which allows you to select your own tips and gives about +3.5BHP. If you use the search button you will find all the previous discussions along with pros and cons. A good starting point is on this link below (Grant alias GSB is the expert on the H&S twin)

Theres a guy on ebay who keeps trying to sell his magnex, and closing the auction early,  he's basically said he'd take £200 for his almost new dual.

The ebay guy in fact wants about £300, fitted. Swopping exhaust to fit a turbo, but seems not to be too sure when to do it.

I don't think he is a member, because he thanked me for suggesting he ought to join and try selling it here.

I suggested to him also to sell on here, they seems to go for around 250 unfitted.

I'm tempted to go for it and fit myself, but i'm gonna wait and get a nice custom one, with slightly smaller tips.
