Title: Scratch Fixing - A Little Scared
Post by: Anonymous on August 24, 2004, 12:05
Hey you lot .. I have read loads of posts using the 'Search' about using this Langka stuff.  I am going to give it a go this weekend as I have just ordered myself some!  Anyone got any special tips or tricks except taking my time?

Take your time...  s:wink:  s:wink:

Seriously though, its pretty hard to make things worse. If you rush the job, the langka just removes all the paint you put in and takes you back to square one... very annoying, but ultimatley not a problem, as you cant make the damage any worse.

Yeah, I was like you. Pretty nervous about it, but after a few encouraging words from Kris (where IS he anyway?) on here about how to go about it, it really is very simple. Just don't apply TOO much pressure and you will be OK. You won't actually make anything worse. Just do exactly as it says on the tin!!!  s:roll:  s:roll:    s:wink:  s:wink:

I had a surface scratch which was quite deep   s:? :? s:?   and no touch up paint. I used lank on a cloth to rub out the scratch. You cant see it now. Very pleased.

Really? i though Langka only worked on touch up paint, not the real coat.

I've got a scratch of sorts in a oval where the toyota badge used to be at the front.  its only the first few layers of paint, but noticable because of its shape.  The langka stuff always takes all of the paint away, no matter what i do with it.  reet bugs me it does.

cheers mate, says 'chip repair' tho. mines more of a nasty graze and the surface is uneven. (reversed into brickwork  s:oops:  s:oops:  ) will this stuff work or will it be a job for the mer scratch rerpair kit?

Either will work. You might have to be a little more careful with the Lanka cos it seemed to work better on "blobs" of paint, but as far as I can tell, works on scratches as well. Did with mine anyway!!!  s:D :D s:D
