Title: Reset Alarm?
Post by: RedMist on July 21, 2014, 18:44
After cleaning MAF sensor and disconnecting battery overnight, I have reconnected battery and cannot stop the alarm!
The key fob opens and closes the doors and the car can be driven, but the alarm keeps going on in a apprx  30 secs cycle even when driving.
If I close the doors and leave it the alarm does then stop. Starts again as soon as I open door.
The car is a 2003 mk 3.
The alarm in the engine compartment is marked META SC1 2T which is self powered and goes off even when I disconnect car battery.
I have tried driving it a mile away and tried opening and closing the door locks but to no avail.
Help please!

Have a look in Maintenance section at Alarm Relocation post, third from bottom of page.
Pierce describes how he reset the alarm to suit his problem.Maybe this will work for you.
Good luck

Looks like I have finally managed to reset the alarm - but not 100% sure how I did it!

Tried all the combinations of key fob button pressing to no avail, followed by multiple ignition key switch on/off sequences and then all finally went silent!!!!!!
Car now locks/unlocks, drives etc and alarm operational without further dramas.

Thanks,
Peter

Can't beat a bit of "pressing and guessing" to get a result.

I am glad it's sorted. (as I am sure are your neighbours!  s:lol:  s:lol: )

I have a nightmare with mine, if I set it to two presses and not three it goes off in less than 30 seconds and continues pretty much non stop.
