As some of you guys know, I've bought a turbo kit with the proceeds from my bike sale (this was my intention from the start).
After much deliberation and research, I have gone for...
The Hass Autoworks package
After speaking to Jay Hass in person, I satisfied myself that the guy really knew what he was doing, and his customer service over the weeks I've been dealing with him have been exemplary, so he got the business.
I've got the full kit as listed, injectors, dual exhaust, intercooler (he's announcing the details of the design soon, I can say no more) and a set of ARP studs for a very competitive price as it's the first one to be shipped to Europe s:D :D s:D
The kit is due to be installed in approximately 6 weeks or so, be assured that I will keep you all updated as to how it all works out.
More soon!
that must be the top package then sean cos i dont think the basic one includes bigger injectors and definately not an intercooler.
what type of intercooler is it? i know jay likes to use water injuection in the form of an aqaumist setup
who are you going to get to fit it? or are you attempting yourself s:twisted:  s:twisted: s:lol:  s:lol:
are you gonna tell us the price for the hass kit including shipping taxes ect as the package you have bought is the one i will probly go for...
best of luck mate nice one s:wink:  s:wink:
ps. make sure you pop round, if youre ever near burton s:D :D s:D
It isn't a package as such I suppose, it's the bits that I wanted put together. As I mentioned, I know the basics of the intercooler setup (it is an intercooler proper rather than water injection) are a little secretive at the moment, I'll wait for Jay to announce it himself before posting here.
As for fitting, Jay assures me it is "real easy", they assemble quite a few bits at the shop, and comprehensive instructions will be supplied, he's ironing out the the last few issues with those as we speak (literally, he's using them to install a kit right now to make sure they work as such), so with the assistance of a helpful club member, I will be attemting it myself, isn't that right Mark? s:lol:  s:lol:
I can't really give a price yet as a) he's done me a bit of a deal on the parts s:wink:  s:wink: and b) we are working on how to ship the kit in the most 'efficient' manner, so don't have final costings on that yet, but when it all arrives I can give you some idea.
And lastly Tom, as you know I pass through Burton every other week or so s:wink:  s:wink:

I didn't know that!
Just don't show me the turbo as i'll be forced to buy one. somehow s:? :? s:?
Hope it brings you a lot of fun though mate s:D :D s:D

Poor, poor Mark...
I mean.. erm.. s;) ;) s;)
Good luck Sean - now get it shipped & fitted and get it on a Dyno so we can all see how well it does s:) :) s:) (Don't want much, do I? s;) ;) s;) )
if the intercooler isnt too expensive i would prefer to have one installed rater that W.I. as i bet it can be a pain topping up your washer tank every now and then.
have you decided what sort of boost you want to run? i beleive jay was aiming for 250-260whp at 11-12psi... s:twisted:  s:twisted:
With the parts I have specified, 250+ should be easily achievable, but it will run in a pretty mild tune for the majority of the time as I do a lot of chugging up and down the motorway.
There will be times when it gets to stretch it's legs though s:twisted:  s:twisted:
Aaron - it will be dyno'd at some point, if only to satisfy my curiosity s:wink:  s:wink:
oh I don't know I'm rather looking forward to it.
s:wink:  s:wink:
s:shock:  s:shock: Ooooooohhh... nice...
Whose doing the fitting and tuning?
sean, wont you have to sell your TTE exhaust?
and, do you know if jay is planning on making a dual exaust rather than just single?
Quote from: "GSB" Ooooooohhh... nice...
Whose doing the fitting and tuning?
surely it wont need tuning will it?
I really fancy the turbo. but I don't fancy selling the bike to do it.
Once you've done it, you'll need to try and convice me!!
Tom, Grant - neither of you read my posts properly did you? s:wink:  s:wink:
I'm getting the dual exhaust (yes the TTE has to go, but it's already sold), Jay also mentioned that he can build pretty much any kind of exhaust you want, centre exit was mentioned as well.
Mark and myself are fitting the kit - the Emanage will be shipped with a base map, and I'm confident there is enough expertise withing the club for further tuning.

You know when i mentioned it Sean and I said is it 'Top Secret' and you said yes it is, I thought it was a TS kit! Doh! The hass kit looks excellent, followed it on Spyderchat, and the fact that they like it speaks volumes!
Can't wait to see it in the flesh. Nice one!
centre exit eh?! would look very boxer like. whats the ETA on the kit then?
and no, i dont read your posts properly! too eager to ask questions!
me need input!! s:lol:  s:lol: s:wink:  s:wink:
ps. oh and i think youre gonna need some wider wheels mate, 250bhp to the rear wheels will have you needing new boots in no time! s:lol:  s:lol:

From my first post...

Guilty as charged m'lud... but my inbuilt disbelief filter probably blocked the notion of you going anywhere near your exhaust again after the O2 sensor incident... s:wink:  s:wink:
Still, it looks like a pretty good "bolt on and go solution", and the e-manage map, tuned conservitively should be fine... Just to be on the safe side though, i would have it checked out in fairly short order just to be sure the mappings ok... USA fuel is a little different to the stuff you'll be pumping here in the UK, so for the sake of a couple of hours and few quid, it could save the bother of having to re-fit the kit to a new engine!
Regarding your choice of kit, what was it about the TTE kit that put you off? not enough power? poor design and engineering? or endless promises of "it'll be out soon"... s:roll:  s:roll: Was patience wearing thin or was it something more?
Cant wait to see the finished product Sean... s:wink:  s:wink:
Nice one mate!! s:) :) s:) Looks like i'll be wanting a spin in yours, let alone you waiting to drive mine s:D :D s:D
Andy
you lucky, lucky, bugger!
nice one though Sean, what the hell you going to do to that car next, you'll have all the toys on it already?
It'll be welcome to "our" special club soon then Sean. s:wink:  s:wink:
What psi are you going for? And does Jay supply a bleed valve or some other sort of boost controller so you can raise and lower the pressure when you want?
Thanks for doing a Group Buy Sean

Halman manual boost controller comes as standard I beleive, not sure if Sean has upgraded or not though?

Sorry guys, been away in York...
The kit ships with a base map in the Emanage at whatever I ask for basically, I'll probably go for around 7 to get it up and running. I am also upgrading (as of yesterday) to an E-01 as well, as in the long run I reckon it will make life a lot easier, so I will be needing your guidance Ian!
As for a GB, I will ask Jay after mine is out of the way, and see what he could possibly put together, alternatively speak to him direct, he's a great guy to deal with and will look after you I'm sure.
No problem Sean, i'll help where i can s:wink:  s:wink:
That was why i asked about boost controller as the e-01 is a excellent addition, not only for altering boost but to do some tweaking and monitor things.
The e-manage map will be a set map that will work for any psi from 0 upto the max they have tuned to, not to just your requested psi. That way you don't have to swop maps if you do alter boost level. All will be clearer when it's all infront of you. s:D :D s:D

Thanks for that Ian, there is still an awful lot to learn - and thanks for the offer of assistance, I expect I will need it at some point s:D :D s:D
