Where did you run into trouble? If you were willing to have a go, you're over half way there!

Which bit gave you trouble? The main skills are small hands, and advanced swearing  s:D :D s:D

If I get around to doing this mod I'd be happy to help you. Don't want to say anything until I've actually done it myself though  s:D :D s:D

[MOD] Moved to electrical where it's probably more appropriate, merged duplicate thread and updated the title to assist with description [/MOD]

What you having problems with? worse thing I found was separating the glass from its backing. The rest was childs play but I do build doors and tailgates all day long at work.

The old glass comes out with a bit of warmth to soften that white sticky stuff you can see on the back.
Then you need to line things up to see where to make a couple of holes for the cable. I found it much easier to feed the cable in by taking the assembly apart completely.
You need a short black cable to earth onto 1 of the studs that hold the mirror assembly onto the door, and a longer red one to feed through the rubber tube into the footwell.

Another top is to use some cardboard to remove the sticky white stuff. If you use anything metal you are likely to scrape the silver backing off.
Also use care when taking the mirror in and out. Use as little force as possible. I have installed 2 sets now and broken a mirror glass each time.  s:-( :-( s:-(

On the how to there is an alternative option to splice into the demist circuit in the drivers footwear. Take off the lower a-post trim and the power feed is just there.  :-) :-) :-)

Through the A-post like the other side. Then run under the carpet to the RH A-post to join into the same rear screen demist circuit cable.

Good stuff.
The main area of pain is getting them from the door and into the body. There are a number of ways to do the power pick up.  :-) :-) :-)

It is a great mod, it even works well on water droplets too.  s;-) ;-) s;-)

Yup my mate used a length of thin pipe, pushed that through and fed the cable through it. So glad done now
