Title: Corolla TS clutch
Post by: Anonymous on September 30, 2004, 17:46
Does anyone know how much can Corolla TS clutch hold? I am getting Hass turbo and will be needing a new clutch eventually however shipping an ACT clutch from the USA to my neck of woods would cost me $200 for shipping only so around $500 total.

I know TTE guys reccomended to use Corolla/Celica TS clutch for their "turbo kit" however I am not sure if it will hold up to some +200whp and 180+ wtq (in fact I am more biased to say it wont).

So if anyone has some more info, please let me know!

I received an email from TTE which should clarify for you:

QuoteThe  clutch is able to handle 250 NM plus extra safty up to 30 Nm in torque.

The horsepower is normally never the problem.

FYI: 250Nm is 184lb/ft and 280Nm is 207lb/ft.
Title: stock clutch spec?

Just out of curiosity, how much power & torque is the stock clutch rated to hold?

i.e. how much more will the Corolla TS clutch support than the stock clutch?

p.s. For anyone that wants to know, Corolla TS clutch directly from Toyota will cost around €100, before taxes which is damn nice price!

FYI the 1ZZ clutch and the 2ZZ clutch from the Celica are the same.  At least they do look the same.
