Title: Loud 'Clicking' noise....
Post by: Anonymous on October 1, 2004, 15:50
When I drive with the hood up and encounter a 'speed hump' or a grid, or some other form of road imperfection, which might cause the chassis to twist ever so slightly, I get a really loud click, coming from the passenger dash area or thereabouts.

It is difficult to track down.....

I have a suspicion that it might be linked to the soft top, because if I unclip the hood and then refasten it, the noise stops for a short while.  I have never noticed it with the hood down, at all.

I wonder if there is some adjustment required on the clasp?

Is the noise being transferred into the screen surround?

Any ideas????

Andrew

I used to get this on my old car. It was solved when the top was up by pulling down on the top's centre grab handle to 'reseat' the top against the windscreen frame. I still do this now (on the new car) everytime I put the top up. Force of habit I guess.

Course, this might not be your problem.  s:wink:  s:wink:
