Been browing the forum for a while and today is he day for my first post as today is the day the girlfriend and i pick up our first MR2.
It is Sable with a/c, black leather, TTE exhaust, body kit and chrome styling bar. It is a dealer ex demo and under 6 months old.
Had a good look around it on test drive ten days ago but anything in particualr to check at handover?

Check the known issues thread at the top of this section, thats all the things that normally go wrong.
Also, i guess being ex demo its had a lot of short runs, with the odd high rev, so you might want to break it in a bit gently for awhile.

When you say break it in gently for a while, how gently and for how long?

If it's got over 600 miles on the clock, drive it how you want s;) ;) s;)
Just make sure any interior/exterior wear is sorted out if possible (scratches/scuffs/etc). It'll have 2 1/2 years warranty left on it, so any issues should be covered anyway.
Make sure you get the locking wheel nut adaptor for the wheels!
Take it easy in the wet, particularly now that wet leaves are appearing on our roads and making it more like a skid-pan. Drive sensibly to start with and build up your confidence and knowledge of the car, but at the same time, enjoy it s8) 8) s8)
is it only 600 miles for the wear in, i though more than a 1000.

There are two schools of thought on breaking an engine in. The softly-softly approach, varying revs but staying below a certain threshold. The other camp is in the rev the nuts off it!
I think there was an article (or link to) posted on here which detailed the stress burn-in approach. Hard to say which is the best way to do it! Personal preference I guess, but I would imagine a 6 month old ex-demo has probably covered this period anyway.

Thanks for the tips everyone especially the locking wheel nut as the same toyota dealer forgot it on the girlfriends Yaris T sport!!!
Definitely will enjoy it, care definitely needed initially in the anticipated seasonal weather.
Will no doubt be visiting the forum in the near future and will be certain to use the search function before posting.

Even though I read it before getting my car....I still followed
