Afraid not, I have no dealings with insurance companies unfortunately. I'll be back soon with prices on a GB.

Right then, if I can get 5 orders I can do the kits for £1615 + VAT and plus delivery if your not having it fitted by me.
Should be able to do more discount if I can get 10 orders together.

On top of this I would recommend the Greddy emanage to sort the fuelling/ignition, pre-mapped along with harnesses/pressure sensor £404 + VAT.

To fit and setup with the emanage will be £600 thats including oil/filter and HKS spark plugs.

Let me know what you think

Bugger, what bad timing!!!  Just bought the PPE manifold kit!  However, still interested.   s:twisted:  s:twisted:

Is the insurance that ridiculous?  It may be worth purchasing for when I grow up to be responsible   s:D :D s:D

How long would you leave it before comencing the GB, I, aswell as most would need time to save my pennies.

Would you also get a GB price for the intercooler kit please.

For this to go ahead I need some orders....

I can get hold of the chargecoolers if required yes. Only problem is I'll be buying the turbo kits from Power Enterprise direct in Japan and the chargecoolers from MWR.

For anyone who wants a quick-scan price, that kit will be:

£2972.33 all-in

Not bad I s'pose. I could be interested if the price for the chargecooler is right...

What kind of bhp will we be looking at  s:?: :?: s:?:
Do you need to change the exhaust/cat  s:?: :?: s:?:
Might be interested...

Around 200bhp without a chargecooler, dont know what the gains are with one fitted, haven't tried a comparison test. Definately feels quicker with one though so they do work.
Dont have to change the exhaust no but would be recommended.

Cheers

Whifblitz, with the PE kit right out of the box, you must absolutly keep the stock exhaust !

It's written in the documentation, and in big letters IIRC.

If you change the exhaust, you modify the backpressure and need either to port the turbine, or to use an electronic management device.

Post by: Anonymous on October 24, 2004, 13:09
Well I wouldn't fit a kit without an emanage anyway so it doesn't matter either way.

Any ideas on a price for the MR chargecooler Whifbitz?
Title:
Post by: LeeUK on October 25, 2004, 17:33
I still wonder about the Apex'i kit, as that actually comes with an intercooler, for the same price as the PE kit which doesn't.   s:wink:  s:wink:

Then again after seening the 2006 MR2 (which kicks a**  s:twisted:  s:twisted:  ) I may wait and see if that comes with a turbo!   s:P :P s:P

Dont know on the price for the chargecooler, haven't priced them up as yet. I'll get on to MWR now.

As far as I'm aware the Apexi kit isn't made anymore?

Ther apexi kit came with an IC in the engine bay rather than a charge cooler.  as I remember Darren had to move his battery to the front to get it to fit.

The apexi IC was only moved on Darren's as it's an SMT. The IC's original position caught the SMT hydraulics, it only fits a manual.

Though it's proper location is right next to the exhaust so i wouldn't really class the IC it does come with as much use.

The MWR chargecooler cost over £700 (can't remember exactly) with delivery when i got mine.

It's where the airbox is normailly located.  I think it was designed with the thought in mind that you had large air scoops like on the GT300 bodykit.

Anyone know anything about the Hass kits? Good quality?
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on October 28, 2004, 12:47
Haas kit is more than 2k as Bongo has said, even before shipping and taxes.

Sean hasn't fitted his yet.

The kit looks excellent quality, and i've only read good reports so far, but there is only a few that have it so far, and only been on a short time, so if there are any problems they are yet to show. One problem i have read is boost spikes if you de-cat. Bigger turbo so more potential for those who will go forged internals later.

The PE at this price makes it a competitive choice again IMO.

Post by: Slacey on October 28, 2004, 20:32
As above, not had it yet. Mine was a fraction over £2k but it was an introductory price, I have since added a Profec E-01 on top so that was another £200.
You'll all know when it's done, trust me  s:wink:  s:wink:

I think if we had time to save our pennies.... I'm unlikely to go Unichip now, I may just save for a turbo kit, hopefully for next summer.   s:wink:  s:wink:
