Title: Front splitter
Post by: MRMike on October 22, 2004, 21:51
 m http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 26475&rd=1 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18290&item=2496726475&rd=1) m

Has anyone got any idea what splitter this is? Just noticed it on Ebay, and I haven't had a response from the seller.  I think it looks rather good, doesn't look like the euro one to me..maybe its MS??

Cheers for any help!

it's teh euro one, but the car has the old front bumper and rear lights which is rather odd

whole damn car is weird... It is facelifted model for sure (that color is new color) BUT the front bumper is old school and so are the back lights?

Seems to me that she was hit from both back and front and cut the costs, found cheapest bumper and cheapest lights...

Cheers Mark!

I thought the car was strange because of the 03 sable colour and the old style lights but thought someone could have replaced them out of choice..I hadn't noticed the front.  I have to say I really like the pre 03 front with the updated lights..

I also really like the splitter!

Cheers again

I prefer the old front bumper myself (but prefer the new back).

Can't see a reason you'd switch to the old lights unless you were saving costs though.

They have done a repair as cheaply as possible from second hand car bits by the look of it. And why is he selling up when it only has 850miles on the clock  s:?: :?: s:?:   Probably does not drive right; anyone who looks to buy this bodge up must be mad  s:? :? s:?

as advert says

The car has had previous panel damage (Cat. D) but has been fully repaired and will pass any inspection.

The forward position of that wing looks strange and distinctly non-functional; chav-ish. It's located directly over the engine, whereas whatever force it's supposed to generate should be over the wheels, and that's why most cars have them as far back as possible.

Speaking of which, few spoilers are really necessary and I've found the Spyder to be very stable at speeds over 160kph. Why add this thing and make washing and waxing more difficult?

I actually quite like the TTE spoiler, IIRC someone mentioned that the purpose of the spoiler is not downforce based but enhancing airflow out of the engine bay.

Anyways back on topic, I really like that pre O3 splitter, but I'm not really sure about the facelift one.  Oh well back to the drawing board.

Cheers

Actually the TTE spoiler mounted there (right where TTE meant it) is supposed to be one of the few functional ones...
