As I understand things, my paint is metallic (8m6 blue).
Over time, the metallic finish appears to have faded/given up the ghost. Otherwise the paint is in fairly good nick for the most part, with the odd swirl etc.
Anyway, the point is: I need to get some new shampoo very soon (just about got enough for one more wash). I fancy giving one of these 'Snow foams' a go. Which are the best ones out there?
Also, will claying help revive the paint? And should I be polishing (which polish) instead of waxing? I had always thought wax helped keep the paint more flexible on older cars by replacing lost fats/oils?? I am happy to be corrected though s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

it sounds like your paint could do with reconditioning.
have a look at detailers in your neck of the woods as see how the go about it. you may or may not want to have ago your self s:) :) s:)
look on detailing world for lots of info as well.

A local detailer would be the easier option and will be worthwhile if your paint is faded and tired looking, but bear in mind if there's heavy scratching through the clear coat then it's more a painter you need, although if small enough a skilled detailer can work some magic.
You could get some kit yourself and give it a shot for a few quid, and have all the products to do it again in a few months, like puma2 says there's all the info you need on detailing world and find a good retailer that can offer product advice for your paint type etc. A good electric DA polisher saves a huge amount of time and gives a superb finish but not essential. If your needing a couple of shop names let me know. Only problem is It becomes an obsession eventually!! Lol
