Title: Seatbelt reel replacement?
Post by: CrazySX on August 6, 2015, 17:57
Anybody ever done it?

My drivers side seat belt is frayed! and it is annoying not to mention an MOT failure.  Planning on replacing it as i have a new one, but just thinking about how much work it will be and if i need any special tools!! Security torx perhaps??

No special tools - you'll need to remove the plastic trim behind / to the side of the seat, but it should be fairly straightforward. Couple of hours max?

I just did it  s:) :) s:)

It took me about 1.5hrs and i was doing it while chatting to a neighbor.  Bit annoying really as sometimes you forget things when you have distractions, but all was ok.  I was surprised at how easy the plastics were to remove, although a bit of a pain having to slacken off the passenger side cabin to release the driverside!

I have taken pics so will do a 'how to' for future reference  s:) :) s:)
