Now that GSP are close where is best to get blank fob/transponder bits for the keys? All I can find online is empty shells with blades.
Oh and Toyota want £155.68 so hoping for alternatives.

What about getting one from a breaker and recoding it to your alarm?
I am having the same problem, local main dealer just quoted me £120 for the key or £170 for a key and tuning in, surely there must me someone out there who knows a cheaper way to get a new key (with two buttons and internal transponder) i can survive with the one key the car came with but happy to pay a reasonable sum for a decent second one that works
I think the breaker option is your best bet. Got mine sorted in the end as I needed more of a repair than anything else - previous owner had dunked the entire transponder - buttons and all - into superglue to "fix" the cracked shell. Lots of careful nail varnish remover and cutting later I finally freed both and replaced the buttons with the eBay rubber versions.

When you say transponder, do you mean the RIKI TOKAI remote part of the key?
I recently 'made' a new key for my one key MR2.
I also bought a few keys, 2x from eBay for about £4 each along with a used MR2 one so that I could take the remote out of it and recode. Timpsons cut the one that I liked the look of (it was gold and had a Toyota badge on the back and "Denso" written on it along with the curved tip to be able to unlock the glovebox) but it didn't work in any locks. So the guy took a blank from the shelf (looked identical to the other one I had) and cut it for me.
The guy at Timpsons was very head strong. Kept telling me that the key itself has the immobiliser part in it, and that they sell immobiliser transponders (little black cylinder type thing and would not accept that I could code it using the car.)
I had previously coded the remote part of the key to successfully lock/unlock the car. But once assembled, the key still did not work. I then realised I hadn't followed the immobiliser guide and just the remote part. After doing that, the key works fine (apart from not being able to unlock the glovebox).
Timpsons charged me £10 and the Toyota key was £20 on eBay, so the new key cost me about £40 all in. Although I'll keep my eye out for any supplies of blank keys that will work in the glovebox.

I bought mine for a few quid, Timpsons cut the key part and Toyota reprogrammed (because I just couldn't get it to work using the guide). They charged around £40 and it took them ages s:) :) s:)

That's a blank key. I'm talking about a real Toyota key to take the transponder out (to put into a blank one).
