I would like to upgrade to 2003 taillights
I can just buy loose glass and mount it on the old?

It's a bit more work than that as the actual lights are different. There's more information on the forum but in general most people buy whole facelift (2003+) rear light units to replace the existing ones

I bought 2 complete sets of the light, (glass and housing) you also need the 03 harness.
