I have a rattle coming from the rear at a certain RPM,
I am sure its something to do with the exhaust but I have had the 2 manifold heatshields off when I removed the Precat and they are all tight with new bolts.
Checked everywhere else around exhaust and cant find anything.
The rattle WAS there before I did the Precats.
Anyone got any ideas where it could be coming from?
Have you checked the cat heat shields, always a good place to start when there's a rattle.
+1

Not sure it will be that as it was replaced in April this year with a brand new one!

Did they try to refit the old heat shields? New Cats don't come with them. If yes, then I bet they have worked loose or rusted through.
is the noise at 2500- 3000 rpm ?
Yes when a take foot of accelerator
Most probably the cat heat shield as said.Theres a weld on it underneath, i had it go on mine but it looked fine, I checked it about 3 times. In the end i wrapped a large jubilee clip round it and it sorted it.
Found it!
It was the big heat shield that has the embossed picture of a hand on it at the rear, bolts all tightened no more rattle.
