Title: Car Alarm and Barrier Gate
Post by: Anonymous on November 26, 2004, 09:43
Right then,

In my house in Hull we have a courtyard where we all park, entry is controlled by an electric gate which we need a card for.

Last night i parked in the space right next to the entry panel (one of the best for not getting scratched/dinged) (parked here for first time as normal space was taken).

Anyway every time some1 put the barrier up the car alarm went off, has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry I can't help you there.

Though it could be the ariel on the gate that could be affecting your car

havn't had this prob on the 2, but a few guys at work have this prob at work when theyre parked near one of the radars. Only thing we could put it down to is either a matching frequency triggering the alarm or in our most probable case a complete overload of the system by a 1000watt radar assembly!! now thats a lot of microwaves, imagine what it would do to your insides!

One of my friends left his mobile phone in his MGF (  s:x :x s:x  ). He found the car alarm was going off a lot and put it down to the microwaves from the phone. I think it is a fairly common problem   s:( :( s:(  .

if it makes you feel better, even Ferrari's have this problem, at Silverstone last Monday 2X 575's were put together and there alarms went into a protective mode and wouldn't release the imobiliser's for about 10-15mins.
