Post by: Rockingdad on November 16, 2015, 14:46
Afternoon all,

Has anyone on here fitted an android double din head unit? If so could you post up some pics of how it looks and fits in the motor?

I want to fit one in mine but I'm not sure how it will go, if it would need adapters etc and if it sit flush etc.

Thanks

I have one fitted although I have the rexypow centre console, but still fits nicely with the standard set up.
All I had to do was trim the plastic surround from the original stereo and a wire harness/adaptor from Halfords.

Hi. I have just fitted one of these. The two pictured here look great. I have a generic AN21-U running Android 4.4. Couple of questions for you if you will...

Headcase, you seem to have some sort of surround, where would you get one of these?
Also I see you are running Torque. Did you run the CANbus lines directly from the ODB2 socket? I noticed that the an21-u does not allow bluetooth for anything but phone audio and media. I thought the mr2 is not Canbus compatible? P

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm in the process of installing an Eonon GA2114. I am reusing the original surround trim from my headunit and have purchased the additional side trims required for about a tenner that fill the gaps either side of the double din head unit. I connected my bluetooth OBD2 module to the unit and Torque Pro without any problems. I haven't heard of your unit...do you have a link?

Not 100% sure but that does look like the original PFL stereo surround in both pics. Unless you're referring to the red trim on the HVAC controls.

Same stereo surround on Andy's and head case. Only difference is headcases is upside down. The trim only came with the pfl Sony unit.

This unit seems to have a custom bluetooth module for the phone that doesn't allow you to use obd2 bluetooth modules. But there are canbus wires from the back.
