Title: Speakers "popping"
Post by: Anonymous on December 6, 2004, 15:40
My speakers seem to be "popping" when playing music through them - think it might be the HPF but not sure, any ideas?

High Pass Filter - sorry its something on the amp which cuts the bass out of the speakers at a set frequency (or so i think).

They are 90W RMS

The amp is 100W RMS per channel BUT the gain is turned down to about 3/4 (maybe slightly less) as this is what i thought.

Then i thought they might be clipping due to not enough power so i checked the gain again - it still in the right place  s:| :| s:|

Just a thought - but have you checked that all of the speaker connections are good - and the cables aren't being pinched (etc) anywhere?

Otherwise as Stuart said - getting some other speakers to try off your amp would be a good idea - as this would indicate or rule out where the problem might be...
