I'm looking at fitting a wider wheel to accommodate a bigger tyre on track !
What kind of offset will I need to run ? Ideally I do t want to roll archs but if that's the only way the I will.

Yeh I've tryed a few sites and I figured about et30-35
But I was more looking for first hand experience or a know fitment
If your going wider, you may want more offset.
Standard Offset
Front: 45 Rim - 6
Rear: 45 Rim - 6.5
With 7J upfront a 35offset would stick out 22.7mm more than standard.
The car below runs a staggered 16" / 17" setup. The fronts are 16x7 ET30 & rears are 17x8 ET38.

I'm running 15x7 and 16x8 with 20 offset all round. Arches required rolling and flaring about 15mm.

What tyre sizes are you running ?
Currently running 195/50/15 & 225/40/16.
DIY arch rolling is actually not too bad if you have the proper tool for it, and you can pick one up for around £35 on ebay.
Well worth it when you consider a bodyshop would probably charge around £50 quid a corner...
Any reason for the 16 rear ?
I assume a larger tyre choice ?
If anything I'd say running 16" reduces your tire options, I just wanted to keep the rim diameters the same as the stock facelift wheels. The pre-facelifts had 15's all round as standard and apparently could be more prone to snap oversteer, hence Toyota introduced the stagger on the facelift cars. For road use I guess it's considered the safe option to retain the stagger, but if you're '2 is only intended for the track then it just comes down to personal preference really. Mine is mainly a track toy but is still used on the road occasionally.
As a side note I've seen mr2 track cars with 15x7 all round, 17x9 all round, and pretty much everything in-between.
Edit: must correct myself, not sure 17x9 would fit on the front. There's a chap on here called lars_mrs, he's got an awesome track build running 17x8 and 17x9.5
