I have my car aprts and the electric ariel has never worked and looks awful how do I disconnect the ariel lead from the current one and put in a new one that I can change to a small stubby one

The connection is via the grommet and under the rear pockets which you will need to remove for access. You'll see the relay and the aerial plug. How to from there has a few options.
