Does anyone here who has fitted an induction kit fitted have insurance with elephant ..... what hit did it have on the insurance ?
sorry if this is the wrong place for this question...
Also while im about it ..... has any one with elephant added a spoiler and how did that affect the insurance ?
no effect for induction kits
I asked about a hardtop and they wanted an extra £200-£300 for it as it was classed as an exterior visual modification (which i guess a spoiler would come as).
So if you're a younger driver like me then the effect is probably big s:? :? s:?
When I was with elephant, they charged me about £15.00 for the induction kit
They wanted about £100 for the Induction Kit.
£150 for lowering
£150 for Alloy's
They wanted something like 50 from me just for the inlet pipe; even though I explained it made no difference to anything. They wanted something like 70 for the lowering springs,
It really hacks me off that insurance companies can hide behind unexplained formulas for calculating insurance premiums (including factors that would never be allowed in any other area, such as gender) its obviously some guy sat there going, hmm, £100, no wait £120!

There was talk of stopping them from discriminating on gender - i don't know if it got very far though, it was obvious it would just lead to price increases to the gender who was seen as a lower risk.

Equality , states that this continued discrimination is a good thing.

The quoted me £60 for Induction, Lowering Springs and Exhaust. Which i dont think is so bad, plus the quote for the following year went down by more than that.... they "seam" to be mod friendly IMO

Indeed i did, direct line covered it for free on and off the car - elephant's price didn't include any cover for it.
But remember Elephant don't include the cost of the mods so if you damage the new twin exhaust etc they won't replace s:? :? s:?
