Title: Low idling
Post by: Steveohim on June 21, 2016, 18:08
I think my car is idling to low, when I put my reader on it, it was reading about 750rpm when engine was warm. When the car is started from cold it's so much quicker and the throttle is much more responsive. How can I get it to run as good as it does when it's cold?

There are no fault codes from the reader

Nothing to be done.

750rpm is normal once the car is warmed up.

1500rpm is normal when the car us cold.

Agree with the others on the idle.

Might be worth a cheeky clean of the maf to see if that improves things.

The one thing I've learned about the MAF too is once you've cleaned it, disconnect the battery for 15-20 minutes to reset the ECU.

do the battery or pull the ecu fuse 1st.
So the clocking is ticking while you tinker with the maf.
Then by thetime your done. ECU = reset.
Pop fuse back connect batts as ness.

Also do not forget to gently remove the o ring before getting busy with the spray. Depending o the spray, can make the O ring "baggy" so best just to remove 1st..
