Title: Fading Odometer
Post by: bobmcc13 on July 12, 2016, 21:25
I don't know if this is a common problem or if it has happened to anyone else but the odometer on my 2 seems to be fading.
The mileage readout is getting faint and very difficult to read in normal light, with the roof down it's impossible.
Does anyone know if this can be rectified or is it a replacement odometer?
If the odometer is replaced can it be reprogrammed to show my currant mileage?
Any info would help.

Thanks

Bob McC.

Hi Bob, thought it had a switch to brighten & fade? Perhaps that doesnt include odometer tho? Jane

Your description sounds like it's the LCD module that's giving up the ghost. The screen is plugged into the circuit board so can be replaced fairly easily if you have a scrap instrument cluster to remove one from.

The reading is held on the circuit board so just replacing the display wont necessitate reprogramming.

Thanks for all the replies.
I will look for a cluster with a good display.
