Title: Alpine Double Din Please help
Post by: darkstar on August 19, 2016, 20:48
I've just bought a Alpine model W203 Ri from flebay
it came with lot of connections behind, I've connected my existing ISO to this, this power up and working ok.
Now the problems are
a) I couldn't connect my MR2 aerial pin, where to connect this?
b) Source button on Alpine powers and starts system even I removed ignition key, How to configure this to stop when ignition off
c) when switch of source button ,still  clock on Radio runs, is this normal behaviour , if so do i loose battery ?
I don't want to see high street radio fitter, can somebody who has fit this in their MR2 , please help me
My MR2 is 2002 model.
Thanks

I think I found the part needed for aerial connection it is  pc5-28 from halfords. Will buy tomorrow and check. Need to see  how to stop the unit when ignition key removed next.

Some head units need the ignition live and permanent live swapped, this should sort it out

I've sorted out myself, checked the wiring diagram of Alpine, it is very clear. Somehow the previous owner of this unit has short circuited  ignition wire with Battery wire. I've separated them and connected properly, now mine works perfect.
