I noticed today that pressing the clutch in creates a sort of squeaking, creaking, rubbing sounds, somewhere under the floor.
I don't think it's the clutch itself, it happens even in neutral.
It really sounds like the cable is rubbing somewhere.
Is this normal? Should I be worried, should I take it to get sorted or what?
Any ideas?
there is no cable, it's a solid metal pipe for teh hydraulics
odub, does this sound familiar? s;) ;) s;)

If it is definately coming from the pedal, then it wont be the thrust bearing or anything in the gearbox. Believe me that is a lot more than just a squeak.
The return spring (painted red) on the clutch pedal is rubbing. It usual has the spring end sitting in a little plastic seat, but I have seen a couple of mr2's now where this seat has snapped and come out causing the spring to squeak.
To fix the prblem i shoved some small silicon hose (tight fit) over the end of the spring where it sits and then put some grease around it too as it seemed to have dried out.
Well it doesn't actually sound like its coming from the pedal, outside of the car it sounds like its coming from behind the seats.
The cars under warrenty so 'll have them sort it, along with me roof. But I wouldn't mind being able to tel lthem whats wrong.
I had the same problem, and i know it sounds aas though its outside the cabin, but it will almost certainly be the linkage in the bulkhead. Try WD40 on that and it should sound fine again.
Fair enough, i shall try the above, cheers!
