Grant, or anybody who has done it!
First off, i was trying to put the wrong bracket on the front, it is the long one not the short one.
Next, and this is the question, on the front which way round (or effictively which side of the car) does each bracket go. Just off to lunch, but if anybody knows will save a couple of hours experimenting).
Is the bracket bit that holds the strut on the inside of the bonnet bolts, or the outside, and is the hole that takes the strut at the front end of the bonnet or the back end.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Roger, did you notice GSB's install guide?

Roger, all the answers to your queries lie in the first photo of the instructions thread...

Be careful, if you're having trouble at this stage of the game, it could be that you're rushing, which WILL lead to you bending the bonnet...
Once you have the brackets in, and one of the struts mounted, if the bonnet wont come down with light, one finger pressure, DON'T push it any harder. Let more gas out first, and then make sure you can compress the pring when its off the car before trying to compress it with the bonnet...
Also, when checking operation, dont just slam the bonnet down. Move it slowly closed, checking for any fouling or interferance all the way. Just remember the big bill for a new bonnet if you bugger it up and you'll be fine! s:wink:  s:wink:
One other thing, there is a washer hose clip above the left side strut that needs to come out, as it interferes with the strut when closed. If the admin would care to unlock the instructions post, I'll edit it to suit.
Grant, unlocked as requested.
Grant...thanks. Thats the picture needed. I don't quite now what happened but it didn't get printed out when I did the rest (and I didn't go back to your post s:oops:  s:oops: ). The one I was working from later on in the the instructions was such a close up it was difficult to see the wood from the trees.
Don't worry not rushing!

Good to hear it Roger!
Original Instructions edited to include removal of washer pipe clip, and original bonnet stay.
