Anyone know the car or the kit?

300bhp very unlikely on that turbo I recon it would be flat out at 270.
I believe that actually belongs to a member on here.
For that money it seems good value.
If in good condition.
Would like to know the exact turbo too.
Same amount as I got for my forged 3SGTE with gearbox! Crazy!
Quote from: "Lee H"Same amount as I got for my forged 3SGTE with gearbox! Crazy!
I dont disagree but i think your 3SGTE was under valued and it isnt exactly a simple job to get it in a mk3. For a mere mortal anyway. We all know you do engine swaps in your sleep Lee.
There are actually 3 turbo kits up for sale at the moment... The other ones are the half built power enterprise one, and then Laura's one (assuming it's not yet been sold).

Isn't that kit from someone on here? Recognise the number plate

Why would you ebay it if you can sell it here for nothing?
Especially as turbo kits usually go for 2k+.

Get that bought and sorted for very little. I actually looks like Rodgers old kit.
I think the scary thing is the whole"untested" bit.... Could just be money down the drain if none of it works??
You'd more than likely need a new manifold, and I don't know what the true state of the turbo is...

The turbo itself is worth a few hundred quid on its own by the time you add emanage and harness its got be up to 500.
All the rest is free.
You dont need a fuel pressure reg or fuel return.
If you want a turbo its worth a punt imho.
Have messaged the seller about viewing so I can inspect the turbo etc
Certainly gonna have a punt at that price!
Why not just do it yourself buy a manifold and turbo and get the parts you want for it. Thats what I am doing but ended up with a spare manifold and turbo

Just been thinking, would the turbo from a Renault 5 GT Turbo work? I have a brand new Hybrid in the Garage somewhere from when I had a GT-T
Think its a T28 of some description
Could well be this one:-

As Scott said the ecu alone is half that value, at that price it would be silly not to use it as a starting point.
not heard anything back yet
Seems bloody cheap to me get it done.... if he replies
Id hit the buy it now and cash on collection if all as per the listing, you know someone will soon.
You cant loose at that money youll always be able to get that kind of money back.

Still for sale tho.
Plus If the turbo ok that a working turbo kit without much hassle for less than £1k. If I didn't have that turbo kit I would of bought it by now.

Right O
A big box arrived and was duly torn open:-

A quick visual check of the turbo shows absolutely no play in the shaft or any unpleasant noises. Oil and Water feeds seem ok (Run through with compressed air to check for leaks)

I'm not a fan of Dump/Blow off valves and prefer the sound of wastegate chatter so may well blank this off
Emanage blue is there complete with wiring harness and link cables also the Greddy boost sensor.
After reading up on the instructions
m http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/USA/c ... s/mrs.html (http://www.power-enterprise.co.jp/USA/carmodel/pages/mrs/mrs.html) m
It looks like I'm missing a few hoses & the fuel pressure regulator
I'm fairly confident in my abilities to pull this off but could do with some advice regarding the FPR. Would someone mind taking a look at the instructions and confirm that I could use this:-
m http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111695651483 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111695651483) m
As a replacement for the Missing Kit part.
I am going to do some other upgrades to the kit, the main one being an oil cooler Kit with auxilary Oil pressure and temperature gauges and of course the obligatory Boost gauge.
Other considerations will be a charge cooler but it will mean butchering the supplied pipework. In the meantime I have ordered a Intake air temp gauge in order to monitor temperatures
It turns out the cracks in the manifold are not too serious
(http://i532.photobucket.com/albums/ee322/Essex2Visuvesi/IMG_4180.jpg) (http://s532.photobucket.com/user/Essex2Visuvesi/media/IMG_4180.jpg.html)
I am sending the manifold to a fabricator friend of mine who will attempt a repair, or failing that will build a replacement manifold. He will also add some bracing between the flanges to add a little more strength
Well done mate, glad you got it, now let the building commence
Now make with the purchase price.

I know I said I'd never go turbo...but for 500 quid + some extras (call it another 500 for things you're msising/tune?) ....I'd have it.
You want to go Turbo Dutchy I will donate a manifold to the cause
Quote from: "cabbydave"You want to go Turbo Dutchy I will donate a manifold to the cause
No. I'm not even going to go down that route. But thanks s:) :) s:)
I've been pretty firm on my thinking the past few days, which is a new record; 2zz, apexi, stg2 cams.
ANYWAY.
I'm really keen on seeing this kit on. It'll be the cheapest turbo build yet s:) :) s:)
2zz with stage 2 cams is the way to go. I love mine!
I've budgeted another 500 for miscellaneous parts and another 500 for mapping and dyno tuning.
Over the next few days I'll be giving the engine a full health check before I starting bolting stuff together.
I'm really not comfortable running no form of intake cooling, so will be adding water injection in the interim as I have the parts to hand
Quote from: "cabbydave"You want to go Turbo Dutchy I will donate a manifold to the cause
I could be interested dave what flange?
The fpr is not needed especially if your getting a new map done. The fpr was designed into the system so the turbo kit run on stock injectors on a stock ecu, so nothing to worry about.
As for cooling leave it as it is and look for 170 - 180 bhp or chargecooler and look for 220bhp. Oil cooler not really needed but I would look into getting pipes for the water side of the turbo for extra cooling if not already there.

I agree with the above.
Isn't the water cooling handy to have anyway so that there's no need for cooling down the turbo after heavy use?
My idiot 2 pence
Fittings for watercooling are there, and having played with renault 5 GT Turbos in the past I would be wary of runing a turbo without watercooling

All turbos are watercooled these days although you still shouls switch the engine off straight after a good run out unless youve been taking it easy for a few miles.
Reason I mention it is because the pe kit don't come with water cooling as standard, but alot of people have added it.

Would be daft not to really.
Just need to figure out the plumbing
Easy cut one water pipe, hole in hole for fitting and the t piece goes where the pressure sensor is to get an oil feed.
Could one of the Mods please merge this with My build thread?
I stopped running water cooling on my T25 or T28 turbos. I've got a turbo timer that I used for a few minutes run on after using the car. I was getting fed up water leaks and didn't go for braided lines.

Never had any bother and I am convinced the car ran cooler
