I realise the preferred aftermarket sump is the Muroso sump, but has anybody had experience with the OBX 6.5 quart sump. Seen a brand new one for sale in U.S. For £350
This thread is about elsise parts sump but the obx gets a mention.
Not a good one.

Thanks for that scotte, that answers the question. Would dearly love to buy a Muroso sump but could not justify that amount of money on a weekend car.
I think mines OBX, I can't remember to be honest, it took a small amount of modifying to get it to fit,, I recall having to remove some material to get a few of the bolts in as the welds were too big, possibly even getting the surface skimmed so it sat better.. but nothing that was too much hasstle as long as that kinda thing doesn't bother you.. and or you're happy to just use a tonne of sealant.
I don't mind a little persuasion, it was the bit about failing welds that I didn't like.
If it were just a matter of alignment and a skim then £200 less than a Muroso sounds good.
I've got mine on has been on for about a year, it's got a tiny pin hole leak on one of the welds but fairly easy to plug up.
Personally id go for the eliseparts sump
Ive had OBX parts on other cars and the quality is hit and miss at best
I admit looking around the quality of the lotus Parts sump looks very good. £460 seems expensive but having had to fit one engine already after bearing shells were starved of oil it's not that bad. It may then lead to a Turbo s:lol:  s:lol:
Lots of good feedback from lotus owners aswell + uk warranty and company at the end of the phone line if you have any issues with it, makes it worth the extra money over something poorly made that you wont be able to get a replacement for easily etc.
