Title: Throttle delay/pause
Post by: goneroming on October 3, 2016, 21:02
I have done full service, cleaned air mass sensor, reset ecu few times, but the problem persists, there is a throttle delay or pause when driving, it smells sometimes of hot oil in the car, but I don`t see any smoke. I have checked the spark plugs after a run when engine cold, they are black & oily. It is using oil more than it should.

Is it a engine rebuild?

poss gummed rings or leaking valve seals. I'd go for the seals first as it's easier but start with an engine flush {either engine flush oil or diesel oil} run for about 30/40 mls then drop the oil, change the filter and put in new oil. Deff worth a try first as it's the easy option and if you feel inclined to do more work you can still re-use the oil and filter
