How does the Elise spares sump compare to the Elise parts sump?

At half the price of the Elise parts unit it's very tempting.
Also does anyone know where to order the TRD short shifter kit inclusive of the cage from?
The one you link is basically a 1zz sump made to fit the oil pickup of the 2zz.
1zz sump has a windage plate.
2zz sump has nothing
The elise parts is a sump has a windage plate and oil baffle's by having doors in the sump.

I guess the obvious question to ask would be if the modified 1zz sump (Elise spares) is adequate for a hard track work in an MR2 2zz? Any failures?
It's always tempting for me to go over engineered for preventative reasons but is it really necessary?
It's better than a 2zz yes, but to give you an idea the 1zz can be starved of oil on hard tracks. Personally if I was in your position pay the extra and get a proper baffled sump so you can think about the race rather than the oil pressure.

I don't think I was being clear.
Is the Elise parts sump that much better than the Elise spares sump? The difference I can see is an alternative baffle and an increased capacity.

For track work a proper baffled sump would be on my list.
Short shift is discontinued as far as i am aware.
If you can find one even secondhand you are doing well.
For the shift get some of Nathans bushings and some big foot cage mounts they really help.

Basically the cheap one not got the baffles you will need for hard track and will not save the engine from oil starvation.
The expensive one keeps the engine alive as its got the baffles you need regardless of the extra capacity.
