Hello I'm new to the MR2oc but as suggested above I have a no crank no start on my wife's roadster, it's been a long day & just wanted to know if there is something obvious that I haven't done or checked. Battery is 12.4v there is no loss between battery terminal to connector, headlights are bright as normal, fuses ok, relays I think are ok, checked ohm resistance 100 & 75 cannot get to starter under the car (car is parked out of the way at a petrol station so can't really jack it up) and there's no front tow hitch either. When I key on or off there is a strange sound which wasn't there before - if that helps!
Thanks in advance any help appreciated
Do the lights flicker at all when you try to crank it?
If all fails, there is most certainly a tow hitch in the front. The eye is in your toolkit behind the driver's seat. The hole for the eye to screw into is behind a little flap in the bumper on the right side
Batterys flat, mine was the same this afternoon no volts even to open dead locks, only read 7.4 volts. Hasnt been run to much these last few months with absolutely no indications it was running flat. Being charged up now on an intelligent charger. Not charged the battery off the car in years so its likely knackered after about 3 years - Mr T genuine battery not as good as the oem panasonic that was factory fitted.
Seems I was a bit silly last week and left the lights on, I put the freshly charged battery on this morning all hell kicked off with the alarm and lights on - likely it was just that silly error missing the bleeper when the door was open - not surprising as I am a bit deaf these days.

Put meter on battery connectors and get someone else to turn the key while you watch the meter
If the voltage plummets its the battery or poor connections. If the voltage is ok try the fuses or relays.
Don't know if you are willing to do this but it might be the starter motor jammed i.e. the brushes within it! Has happened to me in the past on a ride on mower and other things like a tractor and the cure I was told to try was to give a tap on the side of the starter motor with a hammer to free said brushes!
The strange noise you hear could be a clicking sound coming from the starter motor itself best if someone else is there to help you to tap the motor while you turn the key!

I'd hook it up to a booster and see if she turns over. If she does, it's the battery. If not, it's something else.
Showing voltage, doesn't mean the battery has cold-cranking ability. We just took one out of our diesel estate. Wouldn't cold-crank the car but shows 12.3 volts.
A new battery cured the problem.
