Title: Rear wheel bearings
Post by: HFB on January 11, 2017, 18:04
Just had the manifold swapped over for my Toyosport wrapped one (for only £50 cash)  s:) :) s:)  and quite happy with that now. Whilst chatting with my mechanic chap I asked him about the noise I thought I was hearing from OSR and he confirmed it was bearings  s:( :( s:(  but seemed to think it wouldn't be a big job (about an hour). So any recommendations on best place to source new rear bearings from? Seen some on Euro Car Parts for £50 and seen others for £90 and then others for £33.00 from TCB parts ('pattern part but Toyota quality')..........where is best place to buy new bearings from, how much should I expect to pay and any brands to recommend or deter me from buying?

found this site which seems to offer quite an array.....

 m http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/toyota/m ... el-bearing (http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/toyota/mr-2-iii-zzw3/14535/10679-wheel-bearing) m

Also, should I replace both sets (from an economic perspective of the car being taken apart) at the same time or is it not an issue? Thanks

I recently had mine done after 1 failed the MOT. People recommend Mr T but they are very expensive, about £115 each or something in that region.

I didnt want to go for cheapest ones though so went for the TCB ones as you can talk to someone with an interest in what they sell and they seem to know what they are talking about. I went for a pair with the fitting kit which was about £90 for both with the delivery.

A noticeable improvement when done in the handling due to the play in the one side before.

I always stick with Koyo bearings like the OEMs use.
