hi i have just found that my intake and maf case is 3 inch ....too big isnt it ? my set up is 1zz with full exhaust and preprogramed dastek ....
what short of problems does it make ? my long fuel trims are + 10-15
hi i think i have read somwhere 3inch is to big maybe wrong tho. i am using a 3 inch intake with stock airbox but also done caps maf mod at the same time with larger injectors its supposed to balance it out a bit. Hows the car run? any cels? Jacob

If the Dastek is correctly mapped, it should be fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
s:) :) s:) chris tha dastek is no programed for my car so i only know that is programed for tha same bolt ons i have ....also it goes well the only cel i have is when the car is cold after long time ( 1 week ) 300 -301 ..but only on the start ...after 5 min it dont open and in whole day runs.. somebody tell me that maby this cel is from vacum leak ...i do not know ...the car run fantastic no empty spots on acceleration
like chrisgb says if it goes well im sure its fine. not sure what your cell code is sure it will be on the forum somewhere. Jacob
Going to disagree.. (its fun)
Bigger pipe means out of 100% of the air you are taking in, only a percentage of it will be getting metered.. (this is always true, but the ecu assumes it knows the percentage of the total its measuring)
the ecu will therefore be putting in fuel to match that lower amount of air...
The result is you're going to run lean... lean=power so it will drive lovely.. until it melts (if its lean enough).
This is why your trims are adding fuel, no-one really seems to know quite how trims effect full throttle open loop stuff(and I don't have a standard enough car to test)... so theres a chance part throttles fueling lovely and full throttles lean as a green bean..
I assume you have no wideband? I personally wouldn't be playing around with different AFM,pipes, or ecu's without one.
Re-reading this, when you say pre programmed Unichip, do you mean it was already programmed for the 3" inlet or just an of the shelf program for the stock setup. If the latter, then you are going to need to remap.
Tried a 3 inch maf tube- got 16.0 afr, much too lean
