Title: My PPE soundtrack
Post by: LeeUK on January 31, 2005, 13:11
Well it's been a while since I fitted it but here is a vid and a few pics of the system.

In the video ignore the smoke coming out the back, it isn't black just came out odd in the video, it was the normal stuff; the cat wasn't quite warmed up enough and it was a very cold day!

The sounds from the whole car now is very nice, like a nobel.... without the turbo and dump valve   s:lol:  s:lol:

Nice work Lee, I've listened to the clip doesn't sound too much louder than just the H&S twin on its own. Is it really much louder than just the H&S on its own. I'm particularly interested in part throttle and driving around town as my wife uses it as a daily driver. At the mo I'm deliberating between TRD and PPE.

I've driven both a lot (currently I have the TRD installed)

TRD : better quality, less noise, more power on mid-range (better for daily driving), easier to install, all gaskets, bolts and so one included

PPE : looks better (no heatshield), lighter, complete solution, very nice noise, more power at the top (better for track)

in one word : TRD is to make a sports car, PPE is to make a race car  :-) :-) :-)

Sorry, forgot to reply to this!  My girlfriend hates the thing as it's too loud for her.  I think the PPE is just for boys!  If you are both using the car the TRD would probably be a more agreable solution!   s:lol:  s:lol:

Thanks for the reply Lee, I still think that your PPE setup sounds the dogs though - maybe if I were the only one driving! Maybe I'll go with the TRD then  s:P :P s:P

I'll be at the Box Hill meet if anyone wants to see/hear my setup.  It certainly sounds the dogs bits!
