Ladies and Gentlemen,
my MR2 is in sevice now. It's complete rebuild operation so both engine and gearbox would be removed (I think are removed already). Maybe it's a good chance to replace 1ZZ with 2ZZ? :-) :-) :-) Is there anybody around who had replaced engine but kept old Spyder 5 speed gearbox? What else except engine itlself should I also replace? It've looked for HOWTO or FAQ but it seems to be missing...

The 5 speed gearbox does fit and work but peolpe seem to think that the gear ratios are set all wrong to work well with a 2ZZ.
As well as the cost of the engine you would also need to save money for an ECU, header and intake.
