Title: Water temp gauge
Post by: MilesH on March 21, 2017, 10:29
Question for those who run a separate coolant temperature gauge.....where have you mounted your sender?

I found it fitted very nicely in place of the drain plug on the back of the engine, but after 10 minutes use it vibrated so much that it broke the sender! (poly engine mounts).

Are there any tried and tested options?

I've mostly seen spliced into coolant hoses.

I've gone for splicing the hose that runs from the thermostat and bought an alloy adapter to hold the sender  s:) :) s:)

MilesH, do you have any pics of what you did here and is it still holding up?
