Being currently " in process" of changing the grease in the CV joints it occured to me that in the olden days wheel bearing lubrication was a routine job.
I can find reference to changing the rear bearings and front hubs inclusive of bearings but no reference to lubricating the original bearings.
Having seen the condition of the grease in the CV joints (a cream coloured liquid with the consistency of gear oil) that just ran out of the boot when opened up, I am guessing that the wheel bearing grease could be in a similar poor condition and would like to replace it.
Any pearls of wisdom would be appreciated.
Aaah, those happy times when you could say 'lube job' and people didn't start sniggering s:lol:  s:lol:
The wheel bearings are sealed units. No greasing to be done, I'm afraid.
